Dying Breed: Grain Elevator
I was alone when I took this photo. I was driving west to Victoria where I would meet Lori and we would drive back together. Wood Mountain is on the edge of the eastern block of Grasslands National Park. This old wooden elevator is a dying breed. I try to photograph elevators every chance I get. They are part of the rich history of the prairies. The National Film Board made a film about the operation of this elevator in the early 1960's. You can view the film here.
