Canoe on Lake Temagami

Lori and I wanted to paddle our canoe off Lake Temagami early to avoid the boat traffic heading in for the long weekend. We were working on an assignment for Seasons magazine. The photo-essay documented old growth forests in Ontario. We camped on this beach on our way back from Obabika Lake where one of the largest red and white pine old growth forests in North America exists. In this scene we were about to load the canoe and head out. The sun came up over the horizon and lit up the canoe, our 16 foot prospector. The loading of the canoe had to wait.

Pentax 6X7, 55mm f4 lens. Fuji Velvia 50 film.
