Black-tailed Prairie Dog

Black-tailed Prairie Dogs live in large colonies called dog towns in Grasslands National Park. We were in the park for the day and stopped at a pull out to cook dinner. We set up lawn chairs and cooked with our Colman stove on the ground. After awhile, the prairie dogs became more comfortable with our presence and started to venture out of their burrows. I set up my 500mm lens and sat in my lawn chair. I was able to move closer a bit at a time to get this full frame shot.
